A Thoughtful Journey

What is thoughtful in the journey? Is it your brain or things or the people around you that makes you think?

Are these thoughts about your family, friends or enemies? Are these thoughts about your past day, your present or for tomorrow? What Mr. Brain keeps thinking? Is he thinking because he is alone or is he too occupied to think?

The glass window which is banging on regular intervals and is hanging with a help of a bolt, the curtains which are ragged gives you a sight outside. What is there? Trees or the electric wires which are moving like a wave. The hills are far, they are getting closer with every blink, their faces getting changed every moment. You are free, your mind is with them and then there is flash of a headlight or some light in your eyes, you are alive, you exist. You rub your eyes, you look inside the bus, there is nothing interesting, the journey of outside continues. Watching other people if you’re stuck in a jam, the tension, the reaction or acts they perform.

The falling of sleepy heads, the saliva from the kid’s mouth which is falling whenever he is running inside the bus. The musical horns of the trucks and the buses which are passing by. The overtaking and backing off because of the lack of opportunity. The sound of brakes is harsh to ear, the snore of a sleepy head is unavoidable and then there are loud talks on the mobile phones. The mixed music without the beats was intolerable. The multiple noises for ‘paani’ and ‘cold drinks’ at every stop. The strangers are chatting like best friends when they know that they are not going to meet again in near future. I am numb, listening, thinking and observing the nature and sometimes their calls too.

The journey is long or short, who knows? You did calculations for when you going to reach your destination, you’re mentally prepared but your calculations are mostly wrong. Then you gain anger, you get hyper. Who is at fault, your planning or your road partners?
